Sticks 'n Logs
There is now a new location for ibbits to explore, the Bridge Forest's edge! There they may find some useful things including Sticks, Small Logs, or even an elusive Chanterelle Mushroom. There is also a new material stocking in Craftster's...sandpaper! Using sandpaper and their trusty chisel a crafty ibbit may make one of the new Carvings I've added. Stock up and see what happens! ;D

New Feature...Introducing the User Shop Bazaar!
I finished a pretty large new feature, finally! User owned shops are now fully functional! I still have a bit of tweaking to do on certain things, but I figured you guys would rather have usershops now than wait forever for me to decide insignificant visual details. I'm am also planning on writing a help article to put with the shops, but I want to see what issues you guys run into first. If you have any questions feel free to post on the forums and I'll see what I can do. Introducing user shops is the first step to jump-starting the ibbits economy so that hopefully soon there will be more to do on this site. Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions regarding the bazaar, or just things in general on the Suggestions category in the forums. Okay, now I'll go over some of the cool features of this new system. :3

To access the Bazaar, click on the compass icon. It will be the last option in the list. For starters, anybody can buy items from the Bazaar, but if you'd like to open a shop it costs 5,000 bits (changed from 10,000 bits). It does sound a bit pricey, but if you are smart about stocking and pricing the items in your shop you should be able to earn it back pretty quickly. For those of you who have been low on bits for a while I am planning on adding some new features soon that will make it much easier to earn bits on a day to day basis. One nice thing about selling items in your usershop as opposed to selling to the Main Shops is that you can sell items that have been "used" or even partially eaten. This will give you the opportunity to make a bit back from worn tools and such and will allow users who want to save some bits but still need the tool for a couple uses to benefit. However, this does mean that you shouldn't buy things from usershops without checking the condition/remaining servings of items. You don't want to accidentally purchase a Pickaxe only to find out it is in very worn condition when you expected otherwise! You'll also want to double-check prices, as each item (even items that are the same type/color) is priced individually in usershops. This is because each item is unique, even ones that look the same. I wanted to allow people to charge different prices for different item color variations, creators, ages, etc. if they wanted to. Especially since in the future, these things may become more important.

One of the things I'm most excited about is how many customization options there are for usershops. Even if you aren't well versed in HTML, you can still have a cool looking shop if you want to. You can upload your own shopkeeper image, and background image. You can also pick text color and the color of the shelf that your items will be displayed on. And for those of you who do know some HTML there is a section on your shop where you can use your own custom code. You can even write your own custom welcome message and message that shows up after a user purchases from your shop, just like the ones on Main Street! I'm really looking forward to seeing what you guys make. I remember that one of my favorite parts about Starbits Pets was seeing the custom shops, galleries, starjournals, and profiles that you made.

I'm sure that there will be some hiccups and questions in regards to usershops, so please feel free to send me a datagram or post on the forums if you have any issues. Enjoy everyone! :D

Also, on a completely unrelated note, as of today you can now buy Dyed Eggs again at the Fresh Food Market! They will be available until April 5th (Easter), so enjoy them while they're here! I'd also like to add that you can no longer get Eggibits from Dyed Eggs! There were some issues with the script since the Major Winter Update, so I have temporarily removed this feature. When I add it back (or if I change it to something completely different) I'll let you guys know. Still, many ibbits seem to really like the tase of these colorful hard-boiled eggs, so you should still buy them and feed them to your ibblets. ;D

A couple of little updates
Firstly, you can now sell Bittydough Blob Creatures to Addison's Art Gallery! I have also increased the amount of bits that Addison will pay by a small amount. Also, I'm sure some of you were wondering why Addison started to have more things he could say last week. In addition to his usual moody sayings, he also has a neutral mood in which he gives out a random amount of bits. (I mean, he can't be that dramatic all the time, can he?) Some of you older users may recognize the things he says from the old SBP days. ;P This had actually been coded in since I reintroduced Addison, but apparently due to a code typo the chance of him having a neutral mood was so low that it never happened before until I "fixed it", which was what caused that weird glitch where people weren't getting paid for artwork. Speaking of which, I'm pretty sure most of you have received refunds due to that glitch, but if not, let me know and I'll reimburse you.

Another glitch that I think that I have fixed is the glitch where the descriptions for ibbit found items were all messed up. So hopefully in the future there will be no duplicate descriptions for items that ibbits find. I have actually deleted the descriptions for all items that were found before today, so you will only be able to see the changes on items found after this update. Let me know if you guys find any weird glitches related to item descriptions in the future. Also, I wanted to give a shout-out to everyone who has commented about this glitch and all the others on the Preemptive Winter Update Glitch Topic. You guys have really helped me out! Thanks! :D

Better a bit late than never...
This is a bit late, but there is a new MIP stocking in MIP Mart! For those of you who were on Starbits Pets, you may remember the Luvouse. This happy little creature will be available to purchase until the 28th of this month. I wanted to release these guys on Friendship Day last week along with a couple other updates, but I had a big project due right before and a couple other things came up. Don't worry though, I'm back and I'll try to get some more cool updates done this week.

Also, I'd just like to say, the first four variations of the Luvouse are based upon my own pet rats, the last of which sadly passed away this past week. They were awesome little dudes and will be missed, though I think they are in a much happier place now where they can eat all the sweet corn and scrambled eggs that they could ever wish for. If you end up with one of these Luvouse variations, please keep them in mind. :3

In unrelated news, I've fixed the glitch with Addison where he wasn't giving out bits. If you would like a refund, just send me a datagram and let me know how many pieces of artwork you lost, and I'll give you some bits. Sorry about that everyone!

Kakin'eko kids have gotten an image update!
Note: You may have to refresh the page or restart your browser to see the changes in your own ibbit.

The art style of ibbits has changed quite a bit since Taylor and I created the original pixel Kakin'eko kid images two years ago. Well, now they have gotten a shading update! I'm currently working on the system that will allow users to have more than one ibbit, which means that I am currently drawing infant versions of the ibbit species (the Ghostling one is adorable, by the way ;D). I wanted to make sure that the infants were consistent with the current child images, so I decided the Kaki's needed some updating. Overall, I just gave them a smoother look, though I did adjust the colors of certain base variations such as the light yellow one.
Anyway, let me know what you think! Hopefully you guys like the changes that were made. I certainly think that it is a big improvement. I'm also going to make some slight changes the child Ghostling images, but they don't need as much work as the Kaki did. I'm also planning on updating some of the older clothing images too, so overall everything will look pretty sharp soon. Also, don't forget that tomorrow is Friendship Day! Both Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated to the friendships that you have made on ibbits and on Starbits Pets throughout the years. And don't forget the friendship that you have with your ibbit! Stop by this weekend to check it out!
